June 15th. Church Weekend Away

 

Friday June 15th - 17th saw Hetton IM church at Scarborough for our Church weekend away at Red Lea Hotel, Scarborough. This was the first time the Hotel has hosted our conference and they went out of their way to see to our needs. 34 men, women and young people travelled to share fellowship and all of us agree we had a great time, despite the rain, thunder and lightning. And the SEAGULLS.

Our guest speaker was Andrew Jenkins from Newport, South Wales and he spoke about 'Treasure' in many forms.

On Saturday evening we had a very special event when Pat was baptised in the hotel swimming pool, another first.

As is tradition Keith Robinson challenged us all to a quiz night to round the day off.

Our last meeting together was for the breaking of bread on Sunday morning and many of us were very moved by the short video that was shown.  

The elders and the deacons worked hard to make the weekend a success and I am sure everyone would aggree it was. Thanks to everyone for all your hard work.
